Saying "I Do" To Some Plants

We’re officially a month out from the wedding! OMG can’t believe it! It’s so crazy, etc. etc. etc! But really, can you beweave it?!

We have a long laundry list of things to do however there’s one very important thing we haven’t done yet… PLANTS!

We envision a beautiful, lush, tropical/industrial motif going on at the venue. Specifically we want a beautiful tree backdrop behind us when we tie the knot. We plan on buying a bunch of filler plants at Home Depot (and maybe or maybe not returning them after the ceremony) but before we can do that, we need the core of the back drop.

Maybe it’s a benefit of the film industry, but it was so easy to find a reputable place to rent trees in Los Angeles. Today we spent the day on site at the nursery getting an overview and tagging plants to have set aside for our big day. Our budget is $700.

On that budget note, we unfortunately cannot afford to have the plants delivered and picked up from the venue. It’s $80 per half hour of labor!! When we first went over the budget, it was coming out to $300 of plants and $500 of labor!!! HALP!

So what we’re doing, is renting a uhaul and picking up /dropping off ourselves. It’s free (minus the truck rental) and since we have the plants for a week… we can be a little leisurely with it!
